AFA Press’s partner agency Upper Reach publishes a supplement about Azerbaijan 
AFA Press has once again helped our partner agency Upper Reach to produce a special supplement about Azerbaijan for publication in The Times of London The five page supplement focuses on British investment into Azerbaijan, as well as discussing the economic performance of the area and growth in the tourist sector.
The country report includes interviews with British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dr. Carolyn Browne, Azpromo (Azerbaijani Export & Investment Promotion Foundation), Azay Mokhantov President of AF Holding, Anar Z Mammedoc the ZQAN Holding president, Efendi M Ismiyev chairman of the board of Azerkorpu and Abulfas Garayev, the Minister of Culture and Tourism in Azerbaijan.
In an article entitled Azerbaijan: Key allies strengthen ties the supplement discusses the growth in British investment in Azerbaijan, especially in the area of oil and gas exports. There are more than 100 British companies operating in the area since Azerbaijan regained independence in 1991 due to the major oil and gas reserves located in the Caspian Sea, as well as deposits of precious metals, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and deposits of raw materials needed for the construction industry. There is also an interview with Abulfas Garayev, Minister of Culture and Tourism, who speaks about growth in the tourist sector that experienced a 1.5 percent increase despite the global economic crisis in 2009.
The country report was produced by the Azerbaijan Project Team made up of Sérgio Ramos and Katrin Oberin. Upper Reach published the country report on Azerbaijan in The Times of London on the 21st October 2010. You can read the report on their website at: upper-reach.com.
